Janet and Corey from NEDCO came to announce the Open House for the new Polk Street Apartments located at 89 N. Polk Street. Low income housing with priority given to young adults aging out of foster care. The Open House took place on October 15th with Kitty Piercy in attendance. There are 11 refurbished 1bdrm and two bedroom units. The Open House allowed you to meet some of the first residents and tour a unit. There will be an on-site manager, Corey, who is a young man that aged out of foster care himself! This program is touted to be the first of its type in Oregon dedicated to young people who are aging out of foster care.
